Project: Eat
The tres marias went out for a Spa weekend yesterday. All our locks were chopped and treated (mine the shortest of them all), feet and legs pampered, and nails painted. Oh, and some breakfast stuff for late afternoon snacks! Nothing beats sister bonding!
On the other note, I found some leftover steamed Hungarian Sausages at the dining table from yesterdays breakfast and thought of "butchering" it for another weekend pasta dish...
Sausage Spaghetti
Spaghetti
pre-steamed Hungarian Sausage
an onion bulb
cloves of garlic
butter
flour
milk
cream
garlic powder
dried basil
salt n' pepper
grated cheese
Cook pasta according to package directions.
On a skillet, saute in sliced onions and crushed garlic in butter. Add in sausages. Gradually add flour stirring constantly to make a roux. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly until desired smoothness and consistency is achieved. Add cream. Add garlic powder, dried basil, salt and pepper to taste. Mix in spaghetti on sauce. Garnish with grated cheese.
(I think it'll be nice to add in the sausages' drippings from steaming it. Unfortunately, all their tasty juices have been thrown away. =/ I will def have to try and redo this pasta dish with the drippings some other time.)
