Project: Eat
I was browsing on a magazine when I chanced upon its Food Section and found a picture of their Pan Grilled Pork Chops with Apple and Beans Sauce. The interesting combination of fruit juices with pork and beans made me curious I had to try one. Tweaked on their recipe a bit by getting rid of beef cubes and mustard and tried on pineapple juice instead. Let's get it on!
Pan-Grilled Chops with Pineapple and Beans Sauce
Pork Chops
Garlic Powder
Ground Dried Rosemary
Salt 'n Pepper
1 large onion
1 small can of Pork and Beans
1 cup Pineapple juice
tablespoons of Lemon Grass Syrup
Pat dry chops. Mix garlic powder, ground rosemary, salt and pepper in a bowl. Rub mixture on chops and leave for a while (20 minutes will do) to infuse flavors. On a heavy-bottomed pan, heat oil and cook chops 'til golden brown. On the same pan, cook onions to sweat, then work on a sauce reduction by adding Pork and Beans, Pineapple Juice and Lemon Grass Syrup. Bring it to a simmer until desired thickness and consistency is achieved. Season with salt and pepper. Pour Sauce over chops, and, chow!
